Agnes Arber Gin Review
Tasting Notes: Deep and zesty aromas of mixed citrus, with grapefruit and lemon peel. Light on the palate with juniper, orange, tangy grapefruit and a hint of earthy liquorice root sweetness. A peppery and earthy finish with coriander seeds and warming cassia. Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Pink Grapefruit, or in a Bee's Knees. |
The Gin Guide Review
Agnes Arber Gin is a light and flavoursome gin with plentiful citrus and earthy character. From the nose to the finish, the different citrus characters of grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime each emerge, with deep, bittersweet peely notes, fresh fruity notes and vibrant zesty notes, all underpinned with abundant earthiness from the classic core of botanicals. With Tonic Water the juniper and earthiness are lifted on the nose, and cassia and some sweeter lemon and lime citrus notes are elevated. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |
Agnes Arber Pineapple Gin Review
Tasting Notes: Aromas of pineapple, mango and grapefruit. Tropical, sweet fruitiness on the palate balanced with a classic earthy, citrussy core. Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of lime, ginger or basil, with Ginger Ale or in a twist on a Gin-Gin Mule. |
The Gin Guide Review
Agnes Arber Pineapple Gin is a vibrant, fruity and tropical gin with a pleasingly evident core of juniper, traditional botanicals and citrus. Bold aromas of pineapple, mango and grapefruit greet you, while the tropical and sweet fruitiness is neatly balanced on the palate with the dry character that Agnes Arber Gin brings as the base. It's a flavoured gin that isn't heavy or overly sweet, and the use of pineapple - a very little used flavour to date in gin - makes it an addition to the market that's sure to have great appeal. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |
Agnes Arber Rhubarb Gin Review
Tasting Notes: Fragrant aromas of rhubarb and citrus. Sweet rhubarb and citrus on the palate with a base of earthiness and peppery juniper. Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of lime, ginger or orange, or with Ginger Ale. |
The Gin Guide Review
Agnes Arber Rhubarb Gin differs from many Rhubarb Gins by being comparatively bright, light and summery, rather than rich, heavy and spiced. The tangy rhubarb combines very pleasingly with the wealth of citrus and the earthiness from the Agnes Arber Gin base for a enticing flavoured gin. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |
Meet the Makers
"Everything we’ve done in regards to the gin, the artwork and the bottling has been done with Agnes Arber in mind. We looked through her books and illustrations and this inspired the artwork that we see on the bottles today. Also, the shape of the bottle is quite square to emulate the look and feel of one of her books." - Brand Manager, Nic Ponticakis
