About Colwith Farm Distillery
|
Colwith Farm Distillery launched Cornwall's first 'plough to bottle' distillery in 2017, producing gin and vodka from scratch using the farm's 400 acres of potato crops, rather than buying in an ethanol base spirit as is typical for most distilleries. The distillery is powered by renewable energy and the potatoes used are those which are either too small or misshapen for commercial use, with the waste products of the distilling process being repurposed as animal feed or to irrigate local crops. |

Meet the Makers
"Whereas most distilleries buy-in mass produced ethanol, at Colwith Farm Distillery, everything is delicately produced from scratch, on a single estate. In terms of provenance, authenticity and quality, put simply, it doesn't get any better. Our crops are are grown within a few miles of the distillery. Thereafter, every step of the production process is delicately carried out in-house." - Owner, Steve Durstow
