Bright Spirits Peels Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
Bright Spirits Peels Gin
Launched in 2018 by Bright Spirits, Peels Gin is one of a trio of gins which also includes Pips Gin and Roots Gin. With a traditional core of botanicals, each gin has been developed with a distinct flavour profile produced through the distillation of the botanicals. No syrups, added sugars or flavourings are added. Peels Gin is distilled at Taxi Spirits distillery in London by cab driver Moses Odong, also known for producing Cabby's Rum. |
The Gin Guide Review
A key distinction with Bright Spirits Peels Gin is that it is not a 'flavoured gin', but alongside the core of classic botanicals it certainly is flavoursome. As the name suggests, citrus features prominently and there's a well-balanced combination of bright fruitiness, bittersweet notes and rich oilier notes. The use of Yuzu also brings its aromatic and slightly exotic nature to the nose. When mixed, the flavour is bold, summery and fruity, with citrus peel and a sherbet-like character standing out. For fans of gins with bold citrus, you'll want to give it a try. When serving, basil, grapefruit or a raspberry makes for an ideal garnish starting point. - Paul Jackson, 2019 |
