The Cocktail categories are Judged in blind tastings of pre-mixed cocktails to ensure complete consistency in their preparation. Martinis are prepared with a 6:1 ration of gin to Dolin Vermouth, and Negronis are prepared with equal parts of gin, Campari and Antica For The Winners and Highly Commended entrants for each category are defined as follows:

- WINNER: These are the gins that achieved a score that was above the threshold to be a Winner in their respective category. These gins are able to display the 'Winner' logo and certificate.
- HIGHLY COMMENDED: These are the gins that achieved a score within a small margin of the threshold to be a Winner and are deserving of a special mention. These gins are able to display the 'Highly Commended' logo.
