CopperPot Distilleries
CopperPot Distilleries was founded in 2024 by Dionne & Jo Tester and is based in St Leonards-on-Sea near Hastings in East Sussex. After going on a gin tour in Cornwall, science teacher Dionne was inspired by how scientific gin distillation was and bought a 2L copper pot still to start researching and experimenting with, much to Jo's dismay! Now with 60L and 10L copper pot stills for production, which inspired the 'CopperPot' brand name, Dionne & Jo's first launch was their 'Moonshine' London Dry Gin. Their range has since expanded to include their Navy Strength Gin 'Shot Across the Bows' and strawberry and raspberry gin 'Summer Fling'.

Moonshine London Dry Gin (37.5% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 8 botanicals including juniper, coriander seeds, orris root, cassia bark, cardamom, grains of paradise, orange, lemon. Base Spirit: Grain.​
  • Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Orange and/or Rosemary, or in a Negroni or Bee's Knees.​
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper, lemon and orange. On the palate, juniper and citrus with notes of cardamom. A finish of lingering citrus and warming, peppery spice.
The Gin Guide Review: CopperPot Distilleries' Moonshine Gin is classic, light and citrussy, welcoming you with enticing aromas of juniper, fruity orange, and waxy lemon, with waves of cardamom and grains of paradise creating a traditional, forthcoming, and layered nose. Juniper and lemon shine through on the palate with undertones of cardamom before the peppery warmth of grains of paradise leads into a finish of lingering citrus, coriander seeds, and cassia bark. Meet the Makers

"We wanted to go as traditional as possible and with the most amount of copper as possible to make a smooth gin. We started with a 2 litre still that we named Belle, then a 10 litre still we named Ami, and then a 60 litre still we named Missy.
