Cotswolds Distillery
|
Cotswolds Distillery was founded in 2014 by New Yorker and whisky connoisseur Dan Szor when he moved to the Cotswolds from London following a career in finance. After locating a derelict site near his home, Dan set about building a distillery and a team to run it. With whisky taking a minimum of 3 years to mature and with a goal to create a range of spirits, Cotswolds Dry Gin was the distillery's first launch, featuring local Cotswolds lavender and bay leaves. The Cotswold Distillery gin range has grown to include a collection of Wildflower Gin, their Old Tom Gin, Aged Gin and Hedgerow Gin, while the distillery and visitor centre boasts and cafe and shop, as well as hosting tours, tastings, gin blending experiences and cocktail masterclasses.

Meet the Makers
"One afternoon, observing the spring barley in the fields around what was then our weekend-home, I was struck by an idea. Why hadn’t anyone made whisky in the Cotswolds? For some time this question lingered in my mind, but as the company I worked for began to flounder, it became an ever-louder siren call to start over. The Cotswolds Distillery materialised in a field just a few miles away and two years after what I now call my ‘barley epiphany’." - Daniel Szor, Founder
