Daffy's Gin, based in Scotland, is distilled in-house using a traditional single-batch copper still, and the name 'Daffy's' comes from an old Dickensian nickname for gin. It features French grain spirit and 8 botanicals including Lebanese mint, with the botanicals being macerated with the base spirit for 4 days. In 2015, Daffy's Gin won a gold award at the International Wine & Spirt Awards, and the bottle features artwork by Robert McGinnis (famed for artwork for films such as James Bond and Breakfast at Tiffany's). The Gin Guide Review Daffy's Gin is fresh, smooth and complex - expertly balanced to combine the pine, citrus, floral, sweet and woody notes that are all evident. Do try it neat as it is very moreish sipped over ice or in a gin and tonic (avoid sweet tonics and stick to premium options here). Bottling the gin at 43.4% ABV (slightly higher than average) is a shrewd move and gives Daffy's gin real heart behind the clean and fresh flavours.
