Distilleria Orobica Autonoma
|
Distilleria Orobica Autonoma (DOA) was established in 2021 by Stefano Arsuffi, with the aim of showcasing the botanicals of the province of Bergamo. The distillery is located in Bracca in the Orobie mountains, producing gin, vodka and liqueurs from organic wheat alcohol in a 244-litre Muller still, using botanicals sourced from local farms or that are hand foraged in local woodland. The DOA name is derived from the inhabitants of Bergamo being named 'Oribici' after the Orobie mountains, and Autonoma means 'Autonomous' to highlight the distillery being established independently by Stefano.

Meet the Maker
"I started with a tiny copper still at home to make a few drops of home-made gin, to be savoured during a nice evening with family or friends. I got carried away, got a taste for distilling, and DOA - Distilleria Orobica Autonoma was born. This time, a real micro-distillery and the first gin distillery made in Bergamo." - Stefano Arsuffi, Founder & Distiller
