Double R Distillery
Double R Distillery (Rudder's Rum) was founded in 2023 by David and Lorraine Rudd and their daughter Amy. Based at Catton Hall on the Derbyshire / Staffordshire border, the family business opened their own distillery in 2025, also offering Gin and Rum School experiences. As well as their gin range and Rudder's Rum range, Double R Distillery produces liqueurs and vodkas, with their No.2 Vanilla Vodka achieving a Gold Award in The Spirits Guide Awards 2026.

No.11 London Dry Gin (40% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 11 including juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, orris root, cardamom, pink peppercorns, lemon verbena, chamomile, lavender, grapefruit peel. Base Spirit: Grain.
  • ​Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lemon or Grapefruit Peel, or in a Martini or French 75.
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of floral lavender and citrus. Juniper, pink grapefruit, and lavender on the palate with cooling herbal notes. A finish of pink peppercorns, soft spice, bittersweet citrus, and lingering florals.
The Gin Guide Review: Double R No.11 Gin was a Finalist in the Traditional Gin category of The Gin Guide Awards 2025. During the blind tastings the Judges were impressed by the gin's aroma, flavour profile, and the serving with Tonic Water. Individual Judge's comments included describing Double R No.11 Gin as having 'a lovely floral start on the nose' and 'enjoyable floral citrus notes on the palate with cooling herbal notes and sherbet sharpness', and noting that 'Tonic Water accentuates the character of the gin - a very good G&T.'
