Ealing Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
Ealing Gin
Launched in 2019 by husband and wife Simon and Amanda Duncan, Ealing Distillery lies in the heart of Ealing, West London near the famous Ealing Film Studios. The Duncan family have lived in Ealing for four generations, and Simon and Amanda distil the gin in their copper still named Felicity. The recipe combines classic gin botanicals with those inspired by the gardens and parks of Ealing, while the bottle is inspired by the Art Deco architecture scattered across the borough. The gin's tagline is “The Queen of London Dry Gins” in reference to Ealing having been known as 'The Queen of the Suburbs' for over a hundred years. 20% of profits go to charities addressing loneliness and social isolation. |
The Gin Guide Review
Ealing Gin combines quality and complexity to deliver a flavoursome and multi-faceted spirit. On the nose the difficult task of bringing through a balanced array of aromas is achieved. This continues on the palate as juniper, citrus, spice, floral and herbal notes come together with bright high notes of orange and rose, and warming spice and pepper building through the finish. Chamomile aids the smooth and rounded mouthfeel to complete an impressive flagship gin. Ideal served as a G&T with a garnish of mint or pink grapefruit and rosemary. - Paul Jackson, 2019. |

MEET THE MAKERS"It struck us that people in Ealing… who, like us, love living here, are proud of its great cultural heritage, its diversity & its strong, friendly community, would love an Ealing gin to gift to friends & family but also, of course, to drink!"
