Fishers Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About Fishers Gin
Fishers Gin launched in 2016 and is third-party distilled at the Adnams Distillery in Southwold, using a base spirit of East Anglian barley. Founded by Andrew Heald, the gin was developed by master distiller John McCarthy in collaboration with James Firth, an Oxford University botanist. Aiming to represent the flavours of the English coastline, Fishers Gin features coastal botanicals including rock samphire, wood aven, bog myrtle and spignel. Find out more in The Gin Guide's 'Meet the Maker' interview with Fishers Gin. The Gin Guide Review Fishers Gin is distinctive, aromatic and full of character and flavour. From the botanicals and flavours through to the logo and fishing net inspired bottle design, it is a gin that certainly captures the essence of the English coast. Whilst the juniper is subtle behind the bold, warm and herbaceous flavours, it achieves an increasingly difficult feat in the gin industry - after you've tried it once, it is instantly recognisable. With 50cl bottles costing £40 - £45, it is undoubtedly in the premium price bracket but it delivers a premium quality spirit to justify it. - Paul Jackson, 2016 Buy Fishers Gin

Meet the Maker
"Our intention was, using ethical enterprise to create a gin that speaks of the Suffolk coast, using sustainably foraged wild botanicals where appropriate, and ‘in house’ organically grown British botanicals where there is no risk to wild populations."
- James Firth, Botanist at Fishers Gin |
