Gin 14 Botanicals - Review & Tasting Notes
About Gin 14 Botanicals
Gin 14 Botanicals is distilled in a small, hand-built distillery in Seville by Antonio Muruve Calle. The gin is only distilled when the Andalusian citrus fruits are ripe in November, December and January. Nine of the fourteen botanicals, which include 5 different varieties of orange, are collected by hand. All fourteen botanicals are macerated for 24 - 30 hours before an 8 hour distillation and then the addition of water from the Sierra Nevada mountains.
The Gin Guide Review
Gin 14 Botanicals has a charmingly simple, smart and understated look to the bottle and branding, in stark contrast to the increasingly flashy bottles and bold branding that are now more frequently used to stand out. So the gin has to speak for itself here, and it really does. There is nothing simple or understated about the gin, which is impressively flavoursome, complex, smooth and refined.
It is aromatic, bright and fragrant on the nose with a burst of citrus and hints of herbal and floral notes. This profile continues on the palate with fresh and zesty orange, lemon and lime, which is anchored by classic gin botanicals including piney juniper, coriander seeds and cassia bark. Gin 14 Botanicals is a surprise package that is thoroughly enjoyable, full of character and ideal for a summery G&T. - Paul Jackson, 2019

MEET THE MAKER
"My greatest achievement has been to distill the 14 botanists at the same time, seeking great harmony between them, as it has 5 different varieties of oranges each with its particular aroma."
- Antonia Muruve Calle, Distiller
