Bros Distillery was originally established in 2020 by brothers Vitalijs and Alex from Latvia. Having moved to Stoke-on-Trent in 1998, they were inspired by their Great-Grandparents who distilled with grain and passed down family recipes. After working selling Genio stills and supplying over 100 distilleries with equipment, the brothers launched their own gin in 2020, Sixtowns Gin. The Sixtowns Gin bottles are made by Wade Ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent and are based on the design of the ceramics kilns that can be found across the area. So it was a fitting move when Bros Distillery relocated to a new 1,050sqm site at World of Wedgewood on the edge of the city. The expansive distillery is set in a bright courtyard, opposite the World of Wedgewood entrance and alongside an array of local businesses. You enter into the large and stylish bar that is centred around a ceramics kiln and stylishly adorned with Sixtowns Gin bottles and neon lights. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Naturally, the production area showcases a wealth of Genio stills before you reach the large and functional areas used for preparation, bottling, storage, packaging and distribution. If you visit for a Distillery Tour, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome and a complimentary drink before you are guided through an immersive journey, learning all about distilling, botanicals and fermentation. The walkway between the bar area and the production area has been neatly turned into a concise timeline of the history of distilling and the Sixtowns Gin story. And what's a distillery tour without a tasting session! You'll then be able to sample the Sixtowns selection of spirits and receive a 10% discount on all stock in the shop. As vast as the distillery seems on the ground floor, it is easy to miss that there is an entire 2nd floor. We were given a sneak peek of the area that is home to office space for the team and is also being developed to house a Gin School. Since launch Sixtowns Gin in 2020, the Bros Distillery spirits range has grown to include their Sixtowns Pink Gin, as well as a Vodka and Rum. You Might Also Like...
