What did you do before launching Twin Peaks Gin? I was a Quality Manager for an International Food and Drink Company for over 40 years, who had a Factory in Norwich. I took early retirement during Covid when it was decided to close the Factory in Norwich and move production to other areas. This role gave me an opportunity to experience various manufacturing processes, understanding of the purchasing of quality ingredients, product formulations, legal and marketing requirements, and all aspects of the food and drink manufacturing industry, as I progressed to being a member of the site Leadership Team. My brother Nick was in education for over 35 years, initially teaching physics, woodwork and technical drawing before becoming an Assistant Head Teacher and the more managerial elements this role brings. He is a great communicator and leader and is very practically minded. What made you decide to create and launch your own gin brand? The whole interest in developing a gin recipe started from a Christmas present of a Gin School experience. The experience lit a spark with both Nick and I and we then went on to experience different gin schools around the country, with each one learning more and more and producing gins that were really enjoyable and exciting to make. After learning about the requirements to own a still we obtain all the necessary licences and bought our own 2 litre still. After numerous product development trials with different botanicals we developed a gin that was exactly to our taste and from the feedback from friends and family guinea pigs they thought so as well. So Twin Peaks Signature London Dry Gin was born. What is the story behind the Twin Peaks brand name? We decided that our brand would be called “Twin Peaks” as we both love mountains and have had numerous Winter and Summer holidays in the Alps. Can you tell us more about your distillery set up? Currently we only have a small experimental 2 litre column still. This is where we develop all our recipes after which we partner with existing Norfolk distilleries to contract manufacture and pack for us. Living in Norfolk we like to use 2 variants of locally sourced Samphire in all our recipes in different quantities. What is your ambition for Twin Peaks Gin in the years to come?
Continue to produce premium quality craft gins which are recognised by the industry. Our ultimate aim is to have our still capable of producing our production needs and that our products are stocked in many outlets in East Anglia and beyond. We would also love to offer a gin school as this is where our passion for distilling originated and this would enable us to introduce others to the exciting art and craft of gin distilling. What are your favourite ways to drink Twin Peaks Gin? As a traditional London Dry Gin with a classic tonic water (not flavoured tonics) over lots of ice and a fresh squeeze of lemon. Our favourite cocktail using our gin is as a French 75 using premium Champagne. Desert Island Gins: Which 3 gins would you take with you and why?
What's next for you and your gins - any exciting plans? We have recently introduced 2 more gins to our portfolio. The first was Jura - The Autumn Warmer - introducing warming /spicy botanicals which is ideal for colder months but can be equally enjoyed at any time of the year. The second was 'Blizzard' a Navy Strength version of our Award winning Signature London Dry Gin which achieved a Gold Award in High ABV category of The Gin Guide Awards 2026. Next we plan to introduce limited edition gins. You Might Also Like...
