Gin Eva La Mallorquina - Review & Tasting Notes
About Gin Eva La Mallorquina
Launched in 2018, Gin Eva 'La Mallorquina' is produced at Winterling Maier Distillery in Majorca, Spain. The distillery was launched by husband and wife team Eva Maier and Stefan Winterling, an oenologist from Catalonia and a wine grower from Germany. Their gins are distilled in-house in traditional 150L copper pot stills in 70 bottle batches. La Mallorquina, named after the Majorcan variety of olives used, begins with weeks of macerating olive pomace in the base spirit before this is distilled and blended with a juniper distillate. The Gin Guide Review La Mallorquina is a unique and contemporary gin, bursting with olive and juniper character. The unmistakable aromas of olive and piney juniper leap out from the glass, along with a subtle fruitiness. On the palate the juniper and coriander seeds combine to give a proportion of classic gin character, with earthy and citrus notes from the latter giving depth. Fruity and vegetal olive flavours remain bold and prominent on the palate, which maintains a smooth and light mouthfeel through to the finish. It's a 'must try' gin for Martini lovers. - Paul Jackson, 2019 |

Meet the Makers"Distilling spirits is just like making wine, but with much more freedom. No limits for creativity and you also don't have to wait for a good vintage or ripe grapes."
