Through the craft of gin-making, BOSQUE Gin discovered that nature dictates the true rhythm of every process. Inspired by this insight, they created Refugios, their cask-rested gin series, experimenting with patience and the transformative power of time on their spirit. French oak barrels became the refuge of choice for BOSQUE's exploration of flavour and aroma from a new perspective. But the journey of refining the wild juniper flavour didn’t stop there. BOSQUE’s creators went further on their quest for the perfect resting place, and thus, Iconic Barrels was born—a special edition of Refugios. “We were inspired to seek out those barrels from around the world that stand out as truly special, iconic, and allow our gin to rest and take refuge within them,” says Bruno Anania, Founder & CEO of BOSQUE. With Iconic Barrels, BOSQUE sets out to find extraordinary barrels with a legacy worth sharing—the story of wineries, distilleries, and cooperages that have mastered the art of barrel ageing. For this release, BOSQUE Gin rested for 8 months in 5 carefully selected barrels from Luigi Bosca winery. These barrels previously held Paraíso, the winery’s flagship wine, infusing the gin with aromas and flavours that contribute to its unique character. The distinctive profile brought by the wild Patagonian juniper in the distillate meets the fruity and spicy notes imparted by these iconic barrels, resulting in a gin rich in history and complexity. "In Bosque Refugios, our barrels rest in a cabin at 1,000 meters above sea level, in Patagonia, at the foot of the Andes. The altitude and reduced oxygen levels on one hand, and the low temperatures on the other, result in a delicate influence of the wood and the ambient oxygen on the liquid. This subtly generates new flavors and aromas, which tend towards vanilla, nuts, and honey”, Bruno Ananía, Founder at BOSQUE.
