Ten bottles of Sir David Hempleman-Adams Explorers Grand Slam Gin, signed by the legendary UK Adventurer, are going under the auction hammer this Christmas.
The idea of Phil Kite, ocean rower and founder of the Adventurers Drinks Company, this Inspirational Gin was created in celebration of Sir David being the first person to achieve the Explorers Grand Slam by climbing the highest summit on all seven continents and walking to the North and South Poles. The gin embraces its inspirational back story with its unique flavour coming from the botanicals found in each of the seven continents including Juniper, Coriander, Thyme and Orris from Europe, Angelica from North America, Liquorice from Africa, Cassia Bark Cardamon and Bay Leaf and from Asia, Batak Pepper from Australasia,Lemon and Orange from South America, and Sea Salt from the Antarctic. Together they produce a fragrant, aromatic, and slightly peppery spicy gin with citrus notes, a truly inspirational spirit, encapsulating its adventurous origins. To celebrate his achievement, and raise some funds for Prostate Cancer UK, ten bottles have been signed by Sir David, one for each of the seven summits climbed, one for each pole walked and one to mark his achievement of completing the Explorers Grand Slam. In addition to Sir David’s signature, he has written the name and date of one of the individual challenges completed on each of the bottles, for example one is detailed 'Everest 1993'. Each bottle comes with its own presentation box and ownership certificate. The ten bottles will be auctioned in the Anderson and Garland Christmas Country House & Fine Interiors Auctions, to be held on 28th and 29th November 2024.
