Ulverston-based Shed One Distillery is responding to the growing demand for convenience in the drinks industry and, at the same time, looking for new ways to open up its premium, lovingly crafted spirits, to new audiences. Shed One Distillery’s first foray into the RTD market will be with its award-winning ‘Fancy Frolic’ artisan gin. Inspired by watching ‘distillery dog, Gertie’, frolicking on the local Cumbrian beach, Fancy Frolic conjures thoughts of brighter, longer, summer days with its refreshing lime, ginger, strawberry, and elderflower notes.  The fresh burst of flavour in the new 6.5% ABV, 250ml slimline cans has been achieved by mixing Fancy Frolic gin with a classic serve of Cumbrian Tonic Water. A low-calorie option with ‘Naturally Light’ Cumbrian Tonic Water is also available, and both Tonic recipes have been created exclusively for the new cans by Shed One in partnership with Cumbrian producer, Mawson’s.
As well as offering the same award-winning taste, the Fancy Frolic ready to drink premium G&T cans have the same recognisable Shed One branding showcasing striking images of the botanicals used in the classically distilled craft gin, including strawberries and limes. Shed One Distillery owners and co-founders, Andy and Zoe Arnold-Bennett, say they are testing the waters with Fancy Frolic G&T cans with the goal of expanding further into the RTD market with their botanical vodkas and innovative range of cocktails. Zoe said: “The RTD market is a natural progression for us, and we see it as another way of getting more people to know who we are, where we are, and what we do. “It’s a new product line we’ve been thinking about for some time, but it’s a busy market and it was important for us to be able to get the right balance of quality with convenience.
