Griffiths Brothers Distillery
Griffiths Brothers Gin is the creation of brothers Alex and Drew Griffiths, and was launched in 2017. Their distillery is based in Penn Street, near Amersham in Buckinghamshire, and is located in a unit that is part of a former factory that made Mosquito planes in WW2. The gin is cold distilled in-house using two rotary evaporators, with each botanical being distilled at a low temperature, rather than being heated in the style of traditional distilling. Since launching their Original Gin, the Griffiths Brothers range has grown to include their Export Gin, St Lucia Gin, and Autumn Spiced Gin, as well as GB Vodka and their Nine Tails Rum range.

​Griffiths Brothers Gin (43.5% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 13 including juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice root, cassia bark, orris root, grains of paradise, bay laurel, barberries, elderflower, orange peel, lemon peel, orange blossom. Base Spirit: Wheat.
  • Serving Suggestion: ​Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Orange Peel or Clementine Peel, or in a Martini.
  • Tasting Notes: Fresh, bright and citrussy aromas with earthy, peppery notes. Clean and zesty on the palate, with earthy and aromatic undertones. A crisp finish with herbaceous bay, liquorice and pepper.

Meet the Makers

"Having experimented with different distilling techniques we were drawn to the idea of cold distillation. During this process, each botanical is individually macerated to draw out its essential oils. Our two rotary evaporators distil each botanical in glass, with the highest quality 100% organic wheat spirit. The spirit vapour is then condensed at -8c and each botanical distillation is stored for the flavour to mellow.
