Launched in 2018, Hadrian's Wall Gin is distilled by Pilgrim Spirit Company in Northumberland, near to the Scottish border and Hadrian's Wall. The botanicals used in the gin take inspiration from Roman culture, with the Romans having introduced Britain to a variety of botanical ingredients. The Romans were known to have included bay leaves, chamomile, pimento and mint in their diets and these all feature in Hadrian's Wall Gin. 
The Gin Guide Review
Hadrian's Wall Gin has a charming, rustic feel to it which furthers the personality of the bottle and is fitting with the inspiration from Roman botanicals. The gin has an amber hue and is fragrant on the nose with herbal mint, juniper and earthy liquorice. These characteristics continue on the palate where soft chamomile balances fresh mint, and the mouthfeel is smooth and full-bodied. A kick of pimento leads into the finish and gives warmth as chamomile and liquorice linger. With tonic the botanicals balance and soften, with hints of citrussy coriander seeds becoming more evident. Cucumber or lemon make for ideal garnish starting points. ​- Paul Jackson, 2020
