Hidden Curiosities Gin Review & Tasting Notes
About Hidden Curiosities Gin
Hidden Curiosities Gin was launched in 2017 and is the creation of Jenny Meguro, Director of the Cravat Club. The gin is third-party distilled in the Surrey Hills at Silent Pool Distillers, and features 20 botanicals which are macerated in wheat spirit for 24 hours before distillation. The diverse botanicals include yuzu, cardamom, violet, lavender and 5 varieties of peppercorns. The gin is named after a silk scarf design available from the Cravat Club which ties in with gin's complexity, and the design can be seen on reverse of the label. The Gin Guide says... Hidden Curiosities Gin is well-rounded and complex, balancing bold pepper, cardamom and citrus notes with mellow and soft floral notes. The nose is rich with cardamom and citrus, and the palate brings complexity and depth of flavour before a delicate finish. With each tasting and each different serving, another botanical and character reveal themselves, making Hidden Curiosities Gin truly live up to its name. Garnish: Pink grapefruit peel or pink peppercorns & green cardamom pods. You Might Also Like... For another pepper and citrus-led gin try St Giles Gin, or try Silent Pool Gin, also from the Surrey Hills. |
