Holly's Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
Holly's Gin
Holly’s Gin was launched in 2018 by Holly Harwood following a successful Crowd Funder campaign which sold out the first batch. Holly developed the recipe in her kitchen over the course of two years, and the gin is distilled in two 300L copper stills at Trevethan Distillery in Holly's home county of Cornwall. Holly fills and labels the bottles herself, totalling approximately 620 bottles per batch, before handwriting the batch number on each bottle. |
The Gin Guide Review - Holly's Gin
Holly's Gin is vibrant, flavoursome and characterful. It impresses on the nose with an array of determinable aromas, from piney juniper and rooty notes to florals and orange peel. To taste it is pleasingly smooth and rounded, with coriander seeds and cardamom making a more prominent appearance than on the nose. When mixed with tonic the cardamom boldy comes to the fore with floral notes and balance from earthy, rooty notes, and orange peel makes for an ideal G&T garnish. There's certainly an enjoyable brightness to Holly's Gin that make it an uplifting and endearing choice. - Paul Jackson, 2019 |

Meet The Maker
"There are 9 botanicals in total. The 3 key ones are Orange, Gentian root and Passion Flower. I actually drank passion flower tea for years, and the flower looks pretty cool too! It doesn't taste too floral but perhaps similar to Meadowsweet. There is definitely an earthy aroma, and the gin itself is fresh, citrussy and perfect with a premium tonic water." - Founder, Holly Hatwood
