House of Apenera
|
House of Apenera Distillery was launched in Aragona, Sicily in 2023 by founders Giusy Cipolla and Jerry Prestigiacomo. The brand and Apenera Gin aim to celebrate the flavours, colours and environment of Sicily, taking inspiration from the resilient and unique Sicilian Black Bee which was close to extinction but has since been repopulated. The honey of the Sicilian Black Bee is one of the most highly regarded in the world and features in Apenera Gin alongside juniper from the slopes of Mount Etna, Sicilian oranges, lemons and pink grapefruits, and local herbs, almonds, apples and blackberries. The House of Apenera Distillery is housed in a refurbished 230sqm dried fruit warehouse and is home to their 230L Müller alembic still.

Meet the Makers
"We made the decision to establish a distillery in Sicily out of our deep love and respect for our island and heritage. Our goal was to highlight the flavours and beauty of our botanicals and territory. Additionally, we were motivated by the fact that many gin brands claiming to be made in Sicily are produced by third- party distilleries elsewhere." - Giusy Cipolla and Jerry Prestigiacomo, Founders
