Icelandic Eagle Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About Icelandic Eagle Gin
Launched in 2016, Icelandic Eagle Gin is distilled using Icelandic water and a core of traditional gin botanicals including juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root and citrus fruits. The gin is distilled and bottled in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital city, and is distributed in the UK by Icelandic Drinks. According to local folklore, Iceland has 4 guardian spirits - a bull, a mountain giant, a dragon and an eagle. While this gin represents the eagle, the same distillery makes a vodka which represents the mountain giant, and plans to launch another 2 drinks to represent the other spirits. The Gin Guide Review Icelandic Eagle Gin is a no-nonsense gin with a classic combination of juniper, citrus and spice. On the nose the earthier notes of the root botanicals are evident, then juniper and citrus peels are the highlights on the palate alongside a hint of ginger, before a finish which sees herbal notes and liquorice emerging. With good depth of flavour and at 43% ABV it is very well designed for bartenders and mixologists looking for a reliable choice of mixing gin. It mixes well with tonic or ginger, and a garnish of lemon peel. - Paul Jackson, 2019 |

MEET THE MAKER"The gin is continuously distilled 7 times and blended with natural Icelandic water, which gives it the purity and unique taste. The main botanical is juniper berries and the end result in our mind is a smooth, tasty gin."
