About Isle of Skye Distillers
|
Isle of Skye Distillers was established in Portree in 2016 by Alistair & Thomas Wilson, both from the island. Taking inspiration from the landscape and using Isle of Skye juniper, water from the Storr Lochs and a secret botanical that is only found at high altitudes on Skye, the brothers launched their flagship gin, Misty Isle Gin, in 2017. The distillery is home to four 100L copper pot still in which the botanicals are vapour infused, and all distillation, bottling and labelling is completed by hand on site. Isle of Skye Distillers also have a shop in Portree from which Alistair & Thomas host Gin School experiences. |

The Gin Guide Review:
Misty Isle Gin brings all the character you'd hope to find in a traditional gin, plus a hint of contemporary character and interest. Juniper is prominent and the more vibrant citrus notes are very well balanced and layered with earthy, peppery and warm spice, accompanied by subtle floral notes, coriander seed spice and liquorice root. It is an impressively constructed gin that has a classic core but is not shy on flavour, and it holds its flavour and character very well when mixed. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |

Meet the Makers
"Although we have both been away, Skye is a place that we hold close to our hearts and we are happy to be back home on the island distilling our gin and sharing our passion with others. In creating Misty Isle Gin we took inspiration from our local landscape, in particular the Old Man of Storr and the Cuillin Mountain Range. We wanted to create a gin that embraced the spirit of Skye." - Founders, Alistair & Thomas Wilson
