Jurassic Spirits
Inspired by a passion for nature, history and craftmanship, Jurassic Spirits was founded in 2021 by Lukas Mikula. The Jurassic Spirits distillery is located in the village of Alle in the canton of Jura - a region famed for the discovery of over 4,000 dinosaur footprints and 280 trackways from the late Jurassic period, resulting in the 'Jurassic Period' being named after the Jura Mountains. Distilled in a 150L still, Jurassic Gin was launched in 2022 and features classic and contemporary gin botanicals together with Gingko Biloba - one of the world's oldest tree species still in existence, with Gingko Biloba fossils having been discovered that date back to the Jurassic period. ​

  • Botanicals: 13 botanicals including juniper, coriander seeds, citrus peels, peppercorns, ginkgo biloba. Base Spirit: Grain.​
  • Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Mandarin or Tangerine, or in a Martini or Negroni
  • Tasting Notes: Fresh aromas of juniper, coriander seeds, mandarin and sandalwood. Soft and mellow on the palate with herbal and spice notes. A lingering finish with notes of tangerine.
The Gin Guide Review: Jurassic Gin is a fresh, dry and characterful gin, bringing together juniper and citrus with accents of floral, herbal and spice notes. The aromas are enticing with juniper, mandarin citrus and hints of peppercorns, with this character harmoniously continuing on the palate which showcases herbal juniper, prominent citrus and floral notes, all with an enjoyable earthy depth. The mouthfeel is smooth and full-bodied and the finish is generous and citrussy with bold notes of orange and spicy peppercorns. When served with Tonic Water, Jurassic Gin is fresh, dry, flavoursome and moreish.
