About Linlithgow Distillery
|
Linlithgow Distillery was launched in 2017 by Alyson and Ross Jameson after selling the IT support company they had run for 21 years. They launched their flagship gin, LinGin, the following year after recruiting a tasting panel of 119 locals to help choose their final recipe. In 2019 the distillery launched their 'Four Marys' range, inspired by the four ladies-in-waiting of Mary Queens of Scots, who was born in Linlithgow. In 2021, LinGin was rebranded with custom bottles. |

The Gin Guide Review
Meadowsweet is a botanical that's not often seen outside of the gin industry, but it can bring a subtle sweetness and aromas of hay and vanilla, and it is used to fine effect in LinGin. From the moment you open the bottle it is unmistakably a gin with a core of traditional botanicals, joined by a fresh aroma of juniper and citrus. To taste it is clean, smooth and well-balanced with juniper and citrus, leading to a finish that brings out spice and peppery notes. The 119 locals in Linlithgow who took part in R&D tastings certainly have good taste and have helped Alyson and Ross create a greatly enjoyable gin." - Paul Jackson, 2018 |
Meet the Makers
"The idea was born, in a hot tub, late one night in October 2016 after having quaffed a few gins! But it was 3 months later that we actually seriously sat down and discussed it. We each undertook to study and research various areas of distillation, botanicals, equipment, licensing etc. Finally in August 2017 we took possession of our first premises and installed the infrastructure from scratch ourselves." - Alyson Jamieson, Co-Founder of Linlithgow Distillery
