Liquorsmiths


Liquorsmiths is a spirits brand working with Foxdenton Estate Distillery and Thames Distillery to produce their range of Old Tom gins, vodka and rum, as well as a spirits focused cookbook. The founders, Deborah and Alex are based in Lewisham, South London, and take inspiration from their local area and the spirits sampled on their travels. Their first launch, Old Tom 6, was released in 2021 in is named as such due to having six botanicals and after Catford in Lewisham which has the postcode SE6.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of lemon peel, juniper and peppery warmth. On the palate, juniper, sweet lemony citrus with and notes of liquorice. A finish with warm Scotch Bonnet.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lemon Peel or Lime, or in a Tom Collins, Negroni or Red Snapper.
The Gin Guide Review: Liquorsmiths Old Tom 6 offers a characterful twist on a traditional Old Tom with the addition of Scotch Bonnets. At its core it is light and traditional with earthy juniper and angelica root alongside the lemony citrus notes which have an appealling sweetness while not being as sweet as many Old Toms. The Scotch Bonnet builds in contrast to the sweet lemon notes and into a warm, peppery finish that can be complemented neatly in a G&T with a garnish of lemon peel or lime. - Paul Jackson, 2022
