London to Lima Distillery
|
London to Lima was founded by Alex James, a Brit who had served in the British Army as a Captain in the Household Cavalry, and his wife Karena who was born in Peru and had grown up in London. In search of adventure the couple moved to Lima and launched their flagship gin in 2016, with its named inspired by their relocation to the Peruvian capital. The gin is made with Quebranta Grapes, which are traditionally used to make the Peruvian spirit Pisco, and is cut with glacial spring water sourced from the Andes at 4,000m above sea level. |

The Gin Guide Review: London to Lima Gin finds a very appealling balance between its classic gin botanicals and its sense of place derived from the character of the grape base spirit and the combination of physallis, citrus and spice. The aromas are full and enticing and are mirrored on the palate with lime, orange and green fruitiness layered around an earthy, traditional core and building into a wealth of peppery spice when neat. With Tonic Water, the flavour profile holds true and the peppery spice softens for a characterful Gin & Tonic with a pleasing Peruvian influence. - Paul Jackson, 2022
