Mackintosh Gin was launched in 2018 by James and Deborah Mackintosh after deciding to develop their own gin while at a gin festival in 2016, and it is a family affair with their 3 daughters all working in the business. They followed their flagship London Dry Gin with the launch of their high ABV Mariner Strength Gin and their Pineapple & Grapefruit Old Tom. The logo depicts the 'Lover's Knot' symbol which can be found carved into a 9th century Pictish stone located close to the Mackintosh's home.

Mackintosh London Dry Gin

Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper, elderflower and citrus peels. On the palate, juniper elderflower and bright citrus. A finish of bittersweet grapefruit citrus, crisp floral notes and peppery warmth. 
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Grapefruit or Orange, or in a Negroni, Gimlet or White Lady.
The Gin Guide Review: Mackintosh London Dry Gin enjoyably delivers traditional botanicals at its core, layered with bright citrus peels and enticing and fragrant elderflower. The mouthfeel is full thanks to citrus oils, while prominent elderflower harmonises with the piney juniper before a warming finish of coriander seeds and peppery notes. With Tonic Water, the elderflower is elevated in combination with the zesty citrus, while a touch of bittersweet grapefruit provides balance and depth in a flavoursome and moreish G&T. - Paul Jackson, 2022

Meet the Makers

"With a love of gin, we immersed ourselves in the rapidly growing gin scene and would spend our summers going to the different gin festivals, masterclasses and tasting events. It was when we bought gin bottle number 50 that we thought about creating our own gin, with an idea of becoming part of the Scottish gin industry.
