Marlow Gin - Reviews, Tasting Notes & Distillery Information
About The Marlow Distillery Ltd
Distillery Introduction: Launched in 2019, Marlow Distillery was set up by three friends who realised their much loved town of Marlow was lacking it's own gin. It took a year to set up the distillery and perfect the recipe for their gin, which is made in a still called Matilda, named after Queen Matilda, who was gifted the manor of Marlow by her husband, William the Conqueror.

Marlow Gin Review
Tasting Notes: The characteristic, juniper led nose is quickly supported by citrus notes from bitter orange peel. The taste birds are further tingled by carefully selected spices includin cubeb berries. Almonds add a mellowing and creamy flavour. A juniper led gin, bringing the traditional alpine tones supported with a gentle spice and citrus flavour, delivered through a pronounced gin. A final warming nuance is provided by grains of paradise, which combine with the juniper to provide a sparkling and warming finish to the flavour profile.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: For garnishes, Seville orange and fresh ginger works wonders. In regards to cocktails, this gin would work well in a Vesper, Monkey Gland or Negroni.
Review: Launched in 2020, Marlow Gin is produced by hand from a copper pot still called Matilda. The right juniper is carefully sourced to give strong notes of pine. Notes of citrus come from lemongrass and fresh lime with liqourice for a viscous texture. Angelica provides a long lasting flavour, while hops grown in the UK add a spicy, honey and earthy aroma that also celebrates and recognise the brewing history and heritage of the riverside town
