Modern Art Distillery

Modern Art Distillery is a gin brand based in Dorset, with their spirits being distilled at Hensol Castle Distillery near Cardiff in Wales. M.A.D was established in 2023 by old university friends Caroline and Catharine following careers in IT consulting and journalism. Sharing a love of spirits and art, Caroline and Catharine wanted to produce high quality spirits while also providing a platform for showcasing emerging artists. As well as their London Dry Gin, made available with five variations of label artwork from British artists, the range also includes a Blueberry & Bergamot Gin and flavoured rum and vodka.

  • Botanicals: 10 botanicals including juniper, coriander seeds, cassia bark, sumac, pink peppercorns, lime leaf, lemon peel, lime peel. Base Spirit: Grain.​
  • Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lemon Peel or Lime, or in a Martini or Gimlet.
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper, fresh citrus and earthy notes. Citrus and juniper on the palate and subtly sweet and floral notes. A finish of peppercorns, aromatic lime leaf and cassia bark spice.​
