Mr Hobbs Gin: Review & Tasting Notes
About Mr Hobbs Gin
Mr Hobbs Gin was created by Jonnie and Suzy Hobbs ahead of the 150 year anniversary of the family business, Hobbs of Henley, a popular leisure boating company. The gin is inspired by the company founder Harry Hobbs who was a bon viveur and gin enthusiast, and his photo can be found on the bottle. Mr. Hobbs Gin distilled at Foxdenton Estate distillery in Buckinghamshire and the recipe includes traditional core of botanicals as well as lime leaf oil and locally picked marshmallow root. |
The Gin Guide Review
Mr Hobbs Gin is smooth, citrusy and summery. The bottle has a traditional, nostalgic feel, and the gin itself has a fresh, modern twist, with lime leaf oil, lemon peel and extract from marshmallow leaf. The gin has a long and refreshing finish, and at 45% it maintains a little bit of a punch alongside the bright character. It's the ideal way to celebrate Harry Hobbs and the 150 year anniversary of Hobbs of Henley. Serve Mr Hobbs Gin in a G&T with a curl of orange peel to bring out the citrus notes further, and using Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic makes for an especially summery serving. - Paul Jackson, 2017 |

"These botanicals were believed to be the ones that Harry Hobbs used himself to make his own gin! We have added a couple more to give it a modern twist." - Suzy Hobbs, Co-Founder
