Opened in 2018 in Napier, The National Distillery Company was co-founded by Blair Nicholl and Ricardo Reis. The distillery is based in an historic 1930s art nouveau building constructed after a major earthquake hit the area. The building used to house the National Tobacco Company and later the Rothmans Cigarette Company, and is so well-known that it features on the New Zealand Monopoly board. The botanicals used in The National Distillery Company's growing range of gins are sourced from across New Zealand.
