Norfolk Gins & Distilleries
Norfolk has a thriving distilling industry with a large number of gin distilleries and gin brands, many of which take inspiration from Norfolk's rolling countryside and The Broads, its unspoilt coastline, and its historic towns and cities. Six of the distilleries in Norfolk are currently open to the public for tours, tastings and/or Gin School experiences. Black Shuck Distillery in Hindolveston was the first to launch in 2012 before St. Giles Distillery in Norwich put Norfolk on the gin map by achieving a Gold Award in The Gin Guide Awards in 2019 and 2022 with their Raspberry, Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, and in 2020 and 2021 with their original St. Giles Gin. Norfolk's reputation for gin was reinforced in 2026 as the recently launched Twin Peaks Gin achieved a Gold Award in the High ABV Gin category of The Gin Guide Awards 2026 with their Blizzard Navy Strength Gin.

St. Giles Gin - Norwich

St. Giles Gin was launched in 2017 after founder Simon Melton was inspired by the gins he tried while travelling the world as a professional diver. Their range now also includes the 57% ABV Divers' Edition, two flavoured gins, a Sloe Gin, and a Honeyed Rum. Distilled in-house in Norwich in a German 400L copper still, St. Giles Gin is named after the historic St. Giles area of Norwich where the company was established, as well as referencing the St. Giles area of London which was at the heart of the gin craze in the 18th century.

Twin Peaks Gins - Norwich

Twin Peaks Gin was launched in 2025 by siblings Nick Baker and Jane Baker, and the brand name is inspired by their love of mountains and holidays in the Alps. Nick and Jane have a long-held passion for traditional gin and their recipe development journey began by taking part in gin making experiences at different distilleries. After obtaining licences and purchasing a 2L product development still, Nick and Jane honed the recipe for their Twin Peaks Signature Dry Gin and now partner with local Norfolk distilleries to upscale production.

Simon Melton - St. Giles Gin"Our gin was born in Norwich and we wanted a name to reflect that. We have a house in St Giles which is an historic area in Norwich. St Giles Road used to have a Distillery Street that ran off, it so it seemed like the perfect choice. St Giles is also infamous for being the heart of the 1700s gin craze in London."

Jane Baker - Twin Peaks Gin"The whole interest in developing a gin recipe was started from a Christmas present of a Gin School experience. The experience lit a spark with both Nick and I and we then went on to experience different gin schools around the country, with each one learning more and producing gins that were really enjoyable and exciting to make."
