Pangolin Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About Pangolin Gin
Pangolin Gin was launched in 2020 with a message to protect the Pangolin - the world's most trafficked mammals but one of its least well known. With this mission to raise awareness and support for Pangolin conservation, 10% of profits are donated to Pangolin conservation charities working across Africa and Asia, such as Pangolin Crisis Fund. Taking inspiration from African flavours, Pangolin Gin combines a core of classic London Dry Gin botanicals with citrus and African baobab, honeybush and rooibos. |
The Gin Guide Review
With prominent African-inspired botanicals, Pangolin Gin is distinctive, exciting and different, which is important in a saturated market. It is aromatic on the nose with citrus and earthy, woody, vanilla notes of rooibos. On the palate it is smooth with sweet nutty notes, juniper, subtle florals and cardamom spice, before moving into a soft, lingering finish of juniper and honeybush pepperiness. With the addition of tonic the African-inspired flavours and citrus notes are elevated further and citrus peels make for an ideal garnish starting point. Between the characterful flavour profile and the Pangolin conservation mission, there's a lot to like. - Paul Jackson, 2020 |

Meet the Maker
"I have always been a lover of wildlife and travel, but it wasn’t until a recent trip to South Africa that I learned about the grave threat to Pangolins. It was a discovery I didn’t feel I could ignore. So, combining my passion for wildlife conservation and love of the spirits industry, the idea for Pangolin Gin was born." - Chris Swanborough, Founder
