Samara Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
Samara Gin
Launched in 2020 by Costa Ricans Eduardo Montero and Ana Cammarano, Samara Gin is inspired by botanicals commonly available in Costa Rica. The focus is on floral botanicals with a hint of honey, alongside cardamom and orange peel, with Costa Rica being a significant producer of both. The gin is distilled in a copper plated column still using the vapour infusion method and neutral grain spirit. |
The Gin Guide Review
Samara Gin is bright, bold and floral, and the goal of delivering aromas and flavours of the botanicals common in Costa Rica has been achieved effectively. The combination of abundant floral notes, supported by orange peel, rosehips, honey and cardamom takes your mind to the tropics, and makes Samara Gin well suited to the Spring and Summer months. It's a gin that is certainly likely to please those partial to prominently floral gins, with a G&T garnished with strawberry or grapefruit, or a French 75 being ideal starting points for servings. - Paul Jackson, 2020 |
