Sir Robin of Locksley Gin Review & Tasting Notes
About Sir Robin of Locksley Gin
Sir Robin of Locksley Gin was launched in 2014 by Yorkshireman John Cherry and his American wife Cynthia. With a background as a wine and spirits buyer, John taught himself to distill and developed a final recipe after over one hundred variations. Based in Yorkshire, the gin has been distilled in-house at Portland Works in Sheffield since 2017 and features botanicals including elderflower, pink grapefruit, and dandelion picked in Yorkshire. The Sir Robin of Locksley name refers to Robin Hood, Yorkshire's folklore hero. The Gin Guide says... Sir Robin of Locksley Gin is a smooth, full and rounded gin that sits midway between a dry gin and an Old Tom, thanks to sumptuous sweet notes from the elderflower, pink grapefruit and liqourice. This sweetness is perfectly reigned in by the warmth of cassia bark and herbaceous dandelion, making it a very sippable and versatile gin. Sir Robin of Locksley Gin mixes well and makes a moreish gin and tonic, whilst the elderflower makes it an ideal choice for a Bramble cocktail too. G&T Garnish: Pink Grapefruit You Might Also Like...
