About South Saxon Spirits
The South Saxon Spirits distillery was established in 2019 in Littlehampton by two lifelong friends. After studying modern distilling methods and also travelling to the Netherlands to study traditional methods, they launched South Saxon Classic Gin in 2021 followed by their Slightly Spiced Gin and Molasses Vodka. The South Saxon Spirits name is inspired by the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of South Saxony, which we now know as Sussex, and was home to King Aelle who is credited with its foundation. |

The Gin Guide Review
South Saxon Classic Gin is exactly as described - classic in style, light and dry with flavours of juniper, orris root and cassia bark alongside brighter Mediterranean notes of lemon and orange citrus. It is a pleasing testament to the traditional. With Tonic Water the piney notes of juniper are elevated further on the nose and the citrus is neatly balanced as the gin's classic character is well maintained when mixed. Lemon peel or orange peel bring out even more of the citrus flavours in the gin and make for fitting garnishes in a classic G&T. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |
