Tanglin Distillery
|
Tanglin Gin was founded by a Brit, two Australians and a Dutchman who brought together their skills in distilling, brand development, marketing, operations/logistics and finance. Their gin distillery was the first to be established in Singapore and is named after the Tanglin area of Singapore that is home to Singapore's botanical gardens. Tanglin Gin's debut launch was in 2018 with their Tanglin Orchid Gin, featuring Amchoor made from powdered unripe mango and vanilla beans from vanilla orchids. This has been followed with their Tanglin Singapore Gin and 58% ABV Black Powder Gin, as well as a move to a new distillery in the Tanglin area.

Tanglin Orchid Gin (42% ABV)
The Gin Guide Review: Tanglin Orchid Gin is a vibrant, exciting and flavoursome gin, while being anchored around a heart of traditional gin botanicals. Layered on the classic core and piney juniper are exotic citrus notes of orange and Amchoor and herbal notes that lead into the lingering finish. Vanilla beans give a creamy feel to the finish and balance with the developing peppery spice of cubeb that is joined by cassia notes and coriander seeds. With a clean, smooth and full mouthfeel to boot, it is an impressive gin that puts Singapore firmly on the gin map. In a G&T, orange or ginger make for ideal garnish starting points with Tanglin Orchid Gin, with a Negroni being a very fitting cocktail serve. - Paul Jackson, 2020

Meet the Makers
"For the Orchid Gin we use the ‘fruit’ of the Vanilla Orchid - whole Vanilla beans - which are used in the Gin Column, adding a smooth richness to the flavour. Meanwhile, organic oranges add a highlight of sweet citrus. We’ve made the most amazing flavour combination by placing our Oranges directly beneath our vanilla in the still's column." - Distiller, Tim Whitefield
