Tarsier Oriental Pink Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About Tarsier Oriental Pink Gin
Tarsier Oriental Pink Gin was launched in 2019 as the second release from Tarsier Spirit, founded by Tim Driver and Sherwin Acebuche after being inspired by a backpacking trip across South East Asia. The gins draw on influences from the cuisine of the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand, and their Oriental Pink Gin is distilled with botanicals such as calamansi, galangal and red dragon fruit before being infused with raspberries and lychees. The gin is named after one of the world's smallest primates, the Tarsier, and 10% of the profits from Tarsier Gin sales go to support conservation schemes in South East Asia that help protect the endangered tarsier. |
The Gin Guide Review
Tarsier Oriental Pink Gin is an exemplary example of the new breed of 'pink gins' that are rewriting the reputation of the flavoured gin category. With a gentle pink hue it is fruity and floral, but light, built around a core of juniper and classic botanicals, and balanced with peppery notes, coriander seeds and gingery galangal. The use of red dragon fruit gives a fragrant floral character on the nose and the raspberry character is delivered with fruity tartness rather than sweetness. The twist of oriental botanicals gives character and depth and completes this impressively executed pink gin. Raspberry and mint makes for an ideal G&T garnish starting point, with lemon and lime also pairing well. - Paul Jackson, 2020 |

Meet the Makers
"We wanted to do this off our own backs, showing the same independent spirit as the Tarsier, so we started production with a 60 litre copper alembic still which was all we could afford." - Tim Driver, Co-Founder & Distiller
