Tarsier Southeast Asian Dry Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About Tarsier Gin
Tarsier Gin was launched in 2017 by co-founders Tim Driver and Sherwin Acebuche, having been inspired by a backpacking trip across South East Asia. The gin draws on influences from the cuisine of the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand, and features calamansi, Thai sweet basil, galangal, and red and black Kampot Pepper. The gin is named after one of the world's smallest primates, the Tarsier, and 10% of the profits from Tarsier Gin sales go to support conservation schemes in South East Asia that help protect the endangered tarsier. |
The Gin Guide Review
Tarsier Gin is enticingly aromatic on the nose with a wealth of spice and citrus. On the palate it is herbaceous, woody and earthy with well-balanced juniper, citrus and spice; before the long, peppery finish. South East Asian brings to mind botanicals such as lemongrass and Kaffir lime leaves, which can so often be overpowering or unbalancing in a gin, however these have been avoided in favour of other Asian botanicals which are cleverly combined to give personality, depth of flavour and a sense South East Asian character. Ginger or lime make for ideal garnishes, while a light ginger ale is also an ideal pairing. - Paul Jackson, 2019 |

Meet the Makers
"We wanted to do this off our own backs, showing the same independent spirit as the Tarsier, so we started production with a 60 litre copper alembic still which was all we could afford." - Tim Driver, Co-Founder & Distiller
