The Edge London Dry Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About The Edge Gin
The Edge Distillery in Cheshire was established in 2018 by former cruise ship entertainers Clare and Mike Ryan. The husband and wife team launched their London Dry Gin the same year and use 2 column head stills that can each produce 80 bottles per run. The gin's name and branding are inspired by the local Cheshire legend of the Wizard of Alderley Edge, and the gin features a signature botanical of 'wolfberries', also known as goji berries. |
The Gin Guide Review
The Edge Gin combines classic and contemporary flavours in a charming gin with a smooth and soft mouthfeel and well executed flavour transitions. On the palate, The Edge Gin takes you from juniper and citrus upfront to goji berry sweetness which is then balanced by spice from cassia, nutmeg and star anise as they carry you into the finish alongside citrus notes and coriander seeds. It makes for a light, contemporary and moreish G&T with juniper, citrus, goji berry sweetness and soft dry spice continuing to take the limelight when mixed, and citrus fruits make for ideal G&T starting points. - Paul Jackson, 2020 |

Meet the Makers
Founders, Clare & Mike Ryan
"Our London dry gin has been receiving rave reviews since we made our first batch in October 2018. It's a blend of botanicals, all working in perfect harmony, together with our unusual botanical "Wolfberry" which has made our gin sublimely smooth and very moreish." |
