The Three Brothers Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About The Three Brothers Bathtub Gin
The three brothers behind Three Brothers Bathtub Gin are Lebanese bartenders who moved from mixing cocktails to making their own gin, which they have declared to be Lebanon's first home-grown gin. The distillery is located in Simar Jbeil between the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Lebanon, and the gin is made in the 'bathtub' style. Also known as cold compounding, this method involves no further distillation and only the infusion of the Lebanese juniper and 21 other botanicals in the base spirit, which gives the gin its rich colour. |
The Gin Guide Review
The Three Brothers Gin is the first gin to put Lebanon on the gin map. It is characterful, contemporary and rounded, with depth of flavour. Floral rose and lavender and evident in abundance alongside piney juniper, zesty citrus and a deep base of fruity, leafy, woody and nutty notes. It's a distinctive gin with some hints that even bring to mind lemon shortbread and lemon iced tea, before a lingering bittersweet finish. It may be a little 'out there' for traditionalists and classic G&T lovers, but it's certainly an impressive and interesting debut gin. As a starting point, try garnishing your G&T with apple and/or thyme - Paul Jackson, 2019 |
