Whaler Gin

Whaler Gin was launched in Germany in 2025 by spirits producers Decka, based in Berlin. Whaler Gin was created with the aim to capture the essence of the coast and is distilled with 24 botanicals including seaweed and sea fennel, before being finished with gentle barrel-ageing.

Review: Whaler Gin (46% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 24 including juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice root, cubeb pepper, cardamom, seaweed, sea fennel, sage, savoury, pine needles, lime leaves, lemon zest, cranberries. Base Spirit: Grain.​
  • Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Grapefruit Peel and/or Samphire, or in a Martini.
  • Tasting Notes: Coastal aromas with saline, umami seaweed notes and juniper. Savoury herbal freshness with juniper and lemon citrus, supported by warming spice and smokey notes. Lingering salinity, green herbaceous notes and gentle spice.
