World Rum Day takes place on the 2nd Saturday of July each year, World Rum Day 2025 being on Saturday 12th July 2025. World Rum Day is the annual, global celebration of rum and distilleries - join rum bars, brands, distillers and rum lovers across the world in coming together to enjoy rum with celebrations, promotions, online events and more!
World Rum Day was launched in 2019 by Paul Jackson, spirits writer and Editor of the World Rum Guide and The Gin Guide. It is celebrated on the 2nd Saturday of July each year, becoming the focal point of the wonderful series of occasions at the start of July, including National Mojito Day, National Piña Colada Day and National Daiquiri Day. World Rum Day 2019 - 2024 were each a roaring success with people enjoying rum around the world, with #worldrumday trending on Twitter and racking up thousands of posts on Instagram, and with countless events, celebrations and promotions. World Rum Day is all about coming together to enjoy rum - whether it's discovering a new rum, returning to an old favourite, getting to know more about a distillery, trying different styles of rum or making rum cocktails. With the currently challenging economic times, it is all the more reason to support rum producers, bars, mixer brands and retailers in 2025. Here are some ways you can get involved and show your support, plus downloadable logos and imagery.
- Rum Lovers: Why not host your own rum tasting or cocktail making at home or on Zoom with friends (and use our handy printable rum tasting placemats)! Share a photo on social media to shout out which rums you are drinking, using #worldrumday and #worldrumday2025 (let's make it trend on Twitter like in previous years!). Feel free to download the imagery below to add to your posts.
- Bars, Brands & Retailers: Celebrate World Rum Day in style with in-person or online events (e.g. tastings, Q&As, tours, or cocktail making), promotions, offers or competitions, social media posts, a special World Rum Day cocktail, and anything else that celebrates the world of rum!
