About Comte de Grasse Distillery

Comte de Grasse Distillery was established in 2017 in the town of Grasse, known as the perfume capital of the world. The distillery is located in a former perfumery building which had been in operation since 1820 and boasts a towering red-brick chimney. The distillery launched 44°N Gin in 2018, named after the location coordinates for Grasse, featuring flavours inspired by the perfume industry and the French Riviera, and produced using a combination of vacuum distillation and perfume extraction processes. |

The Gin Guide Review
Given the location, inspiration, processes and bottle style that come together to create 44°N, you envisage a gin that is vibrantly perfumed and filled with flavours of the Cote d'Azur, and 44°N delivers on that promise in abundance. Rose, jasmine and lavender are bold, prominent and fragrant throughout, with mediterranean character from citrus and herbaceous, subtly warming notes of Alexanders and samphire, as well as delicately sweet honey notes. The juniper's earthy, piney character rises into the finish alongside peppery notes and lingering citrus, and with Tonic Water the juniper, citrus and peppery notes are elevated as the florals soften while remaining at the forefront. It's a gin that will delight floral gin lovers and the cocktail potential is exciting too. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |
Meet the Makers
"I knew I wanted to do spirits differently, My research and self education process led me to the perfume industry and city of Grasse, I found that there were many synergies that existed between perfumes and spirits. This curiosity led me to the discovery of the cutting edge science that goes into the making of fragrances today and provided us with the building blocks to establish Comte de Grasse." - Founder, Bhagath Reddy
