Don Michael was founded in 2017 with the sole purpose of creating Black Whiskey, the worlds first Andean Whiskey using Peruvian ancestral corn. We achieved this goal and our whiskey has been recognized as one of the best in the world. In addition to making whiskey we have diversified over the years and created the brand "Andean". Under the umbrella of Andean we produce Andean Cream, Andean Vodka, and our hottest new release is Andean Gin in 2022.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper, herbs, vanilla and citrus. On the palate, fresh and fruity with vanilla and juniper. A lingering finish of citrus and mint.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Grapefruit and/or Rosemary, or in a Negroni or Martini.

Meet the Makers

"After working and living all over the USA, China, Spain and Africa, the final destination turned out to be Peru. After almost a year of trial and error we decided to take the plunge - in 2016 I wrote a business plan, funds were raised and plans were made to launch our new distillery Don Michael SAC in Lurin, Peru. The distillery was launched in 2017 with my wife Daiana Milon Mayer and it now produces a number of award winning spirits." - Founder, Michael Kuryla
