Arduenna Spirit Co.

Arduenna Gin was launched in 2021 by Martin Bertrand and François Hutin, finance professionals from close to the mountainous Ardennes region of southern Belgium. With the historic Distillerie Radermacher, founded in 1836 and based in Raeren, Martin and François collaborated to develop and produce Arduenna Gin and encapsulate the character of the Ardennes with botanicals including mirabelle plums, elderflower and fir. Taking inspiration from the Ardennes, the Arduenna name is derived from the Celtic for 'wooded heights'.

Arduenna Organic Gin (40% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 10 botanicals including juniper, angelica root, coriander seeds, cardamom, bergamot, mirabelle, elderflower, fir. Base Spirit: Grain.​
  • Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lemon Peel or Mint, or in a Negroni or Gin Fizz.
  • Tasting Notes: Fragrant aromas of elderflower and fruity, honeyed plum notes. On the palate: plum and piney juniper, bergamot citrus, and undertones of elderflower and cardamom. A finish of coriander seeds, cardamom and bergamot, with lingering plum notes.
The Gin Guide Review: Arduenna Gin is fruity, contemporary and distinctive, using mirabelle plums to great effect. On the nose they bring honey-like plum notes, they are fruity on the palate, and they linger with sweet and tangy notes through the finish. Meanwhile, citrussy bergamot, floral elderflower, piney juniper and the soft spice of cardamom provide a charming accompaniment to the mirabelle plums throughout. With Tonic Water, vanilla aromas emerge alongside elderflower, with vanilla and plum notes to taste, making for a Gin & Tonic that brings something genuinely interesting and different to the gin market. - Paul Jackson, 2023
