Atlas Gin
Atlas Gin was founded by Paul Martin from Lincoln and was launched in 2020 with a range of 3 gins - Chai Gin, Love Cake Gin and Shichimi Gin. Distilled at Wharf Distillery in Northamptonshire, the botanicals for each gin are steeped in the base spirit for 24 hours before distillation in a copper pot still.

Atlas Chai Gin
Tasting Notes: Enticing aromas of warm winter spices and black tea notes. Smooth, with spice notes balanced by underlying sweetness, juniper and cardamom. Lingering and warming spiced finish with tannin tea notes. Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with orange & ginger, or a Negroni. |
Review: Inspired by traditional Masala Chai, which is part of everyday life in India, Atlas Chai Gin combines characteristics of Asian spice with warming winter spice, through the use of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom, alongside Assam black tea and underlying sweetness. It's a flavoursome and characterful gin without being overpoweringly spiced. With tonic water the spice notes blend neatly with the juniper and tea notes for an enjoyable spiced G&T. - Paul Jackson, The Gin Guide

Atlas Love Cake Gin
Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper rose and vanilla, with subtle notes of pistachio. Smooth and gently sweet on the palate, with rose water notes, subtle nutty notes and zesty lemon. The finish is dry and lingering with rose, citrus, cardamom and pistachios. Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic (Classic or Mediterranean) with pink grapefruit & rosemary. |
Review: Atlas Love Cake Gin is a homage to Persian Love Cakes that were inspired by the legend of a woman who created a cake to win the heart of a handsome prince, using the most prized ingredients including rose water, pistachios and vanilla. These ingredients are notable in the gin, and following delicate rose and vanilla on the nose there are flavours that transport you to the Middle East, and the rose water notes and sweetness are reminiscent of Turkish Delight. With tonic water the rose isn't overpowering and the florals are balanced with earthy notes and allow the juniper and citrus to play their role, resulting in a vibrant and unique G&T. - Paul Jackson, The Gin Guide

Atlas Shichimi Gin
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a ginger garnish, or in a Red Snapper or Negroni. |
Review: Atlas Shichimi gin is inspired by the traditional Japanese seven-spice blend, and it is an adventurous and experimental gin, bringing together green tea, seaweed and chilli. The aroma is plentiful and intriguing, and on the palate there is an exciting combination of savoury umami notes, warming spice notes and citrus that gives lift to the green notes of seaweed and intermingles with the green tea. The addition of ice brings out more heat from the chilli and peppercorns, and with tonic water the character is light and savoury with elevated citrus and a background of spice and green tea notes - citrus or spice garnishes both pair well. It's a characterful, interesting and unusual gin, all in a good way. - Paul Jackson, The Gin Guide

Meet the Makers
"I am a creative person, and working on new gin concepts to me is a very creative thing to do. I admire the skill behind each of the gin making processes, from choosing the right botanicals, to working up the proof of concepts, to the final distillation process." - Paul Martin, Founder
